Li, Village Wear

So, this is the first part of a project that I started well over a year ago. I love the Legend of Zelda series (I still need to get Breath of the Wild, that game looks freaking fantastic!) and one of the things I like doing is gender-switching Link and Zelda. I've done a few designs for them in the past, but this is the first time I've really put a lot of thought into their designs as well as a story for them.

This is the final version of my fem!Link's (Li, as I've called her) everyday wear before the call to heroism sounds. I say 'final version' because this particular project was a concept art experiment, so I'll post the concept sketches once I've finished uploading all of the final designs, so you guys can see what ideas were floating around in my head at the time.

As I said, I am developing a story for this gender-switch AU, and have been for a while, so here's a quick run down of Li's character. She's very outgoing and is nearly always moving – you'll be lucky to keep her still for more than a minute at a time. She has a very strong moral compass, and a headstrong but somewhat snarky personality, which becomes more apparent the more you get on her nerves. A lover of all things to do with music, Li is a keen flautist and dancer as well as a talented swordswoman for someone her age. Family comes above all else for Li, and while she's certainly brave enough to do anything in her power to keep them safe she has an unfortunate habit of crossing the line between courage and recklessness.
