Xenoblade Keith

FREEDOM IS MINE!!! Phew! It is good to get back to drawing. I'd say I don't want to see another keyboard for at least a month but I enjoy my writing too much for that. So long as it's not academic. Or anything to do with poetry (dear god, that assignment alone nearly did me in...). Anyway, enough on academics (because I really don't want to think about that right now, it had been a horrid three weeks), back to Keith's design for my Voltron: Xenoblade Chronicles AU. Keith takes on Shulk's role in this AU in that he wields the Monado, but is a soldier instead of a weapons developer – as such, I decided to make his design a mix of Shulk and Reyn.

Keith is a rising star in the Colony 9 Defence Force, and is the protégé of Shiro, the Homs' Champion, as well as Haggar, the Druid Healer who found him and the Monado in the Baku Mountains following an expedition that killed his parents. Keith has always been curious about the Monado, and seems to spend more time visiting Pidge and Hunk in the Weapons Development Lab to ask about it than he does attending drills with the rest of his Close Combat Unit, which gets him in trouble with Commander Iverson on several occasions (it is mostly thanks to Shiro and Haggar, as well as Keith's talent with a sword, that he hasn't been booted from the Defence Force yet). Keith discovers that he is able to both wield the Monado as well as use it to see visions of the future when the Voltron Galra attack Colony 9 – to avenge his home, he leaves the colony to travel across the Balmera in order to bring an end to the war between the denizens of the two titans for good, enlisting the help of friends old and new along the way. He has somewhat of a rivalry with Lance, but has issues with picking up on some social cues at times. His hotheaded attitude and sheer determination, however, keeps the group going no matter what hardships they face.
